How to Use Meta Business Suite

FB Business Suitev2.png

It probably comes as no surprise that Facebook and Instagram are two of the best social media platforms to use for your business. After all, they have a combined user base of nearly 3 billion people! Facebook acquired Instagram back in 2012, but there hasn’t been much of an apparent connection between the two platforms besides having the ability to connect your accounts and post on both simultaneously.

Since the coronavirus pandemic, we have seen more activity on social media platforms than ever before, especially from small businesses. Facebook and Instagram have played vital roles in connecting small businesses to their audiences so they can snag leads and drive sales.

Facebook knows how vital their platforms are for small businesses, so they took action to help business owners even more. Last year they announced the launch of META Business Suite, which aims to help business owners streamline their social media marketing efforts, stay up to date on alerts, and save time on social media management.

Facebook Business Suite is a great tool, so I thought I would give you a quick run-down on how to use it!

What Can Meta Business Suite Do?

Before we get into how to use Meta Business Suite, here’s a brief overview of what you can do with this tool:

  • View Facebook and Instagram updates. You can see all of your critical alerts, messages, comments, and more right in one place. This saves a ton of time since you don’t have to switch back and forth between both accounts all day! You can even set up automated messages to answer frequently asked questions or notify the sender that you will get back to them shortly.

  • Streamlined sharing. META Business Suite lets you draft, schedule, and share posts to both Instagram and Facebook. You can select to share posts to either platform or both at the same time.

  • Understand what’s working. View all of your post and ad insights in one place so you can see what your audience likes, what they don’t, and how you can make your social media presence stronger.

  • Grow your audience. Boosted posts and paid ads can help you reach more people and create a larger community.

Using META Business Suite

Once you log into the Meta business suite, you will be on the homepage. From there, you will notice that there is a bar on the right side with the following tabs:

  • Home

  • Activity

  • Inbox

  • Posts

  • Ads

  • Insights

  • More tools

If you have your Facebook Business page set up for eCommerce, you might see a Commerce tab between Posts and Ads.

First Things First

The first thing you should do when you log into the Meta Business Suite is connect your Facebook and Instagram accounts. This will allow you to access all of the tools you’ll need to manage both accounts in one place.

Meta Business Suite is available on your desktop and as an app for iPhones and Androids. Make sure you download the app so you can manage on the go!

Homescreen

The Homescreen tab is where you’re going to see all of your new notifications for your connected Instagram and Facebook accounts.

You will also be able to see an overview of your ad performance and insights from your boosted and organic posts.

Activity

Under the Activity tab is where you’ll be able to see who has liked and commented on which posts on Facebook and Instagram. You can also keep track of specific customer interactions that you want to view (tags, mentions, likes, etc.)

Inbox

Your Inbox in the Meta Business Suite will show you messages from your customers on both platforms.

When you click on a message in your unified inbox, you will be able to see some information about the person who sent it in the upper right corner of your screen.

Here you can also filter and search through messages, create automatic responses (answers to frequently asked questions, “away” messages, etc.), and set statuses to let customers know if you are available or not.

Posts

Underneath the Posts tab, you can create, schedule, and post on Facebook, Instagram, or both. There is also the option to preview a post on desktop and mobile feeds to make sure it looks exactly how you want it.

The Meta Business Suite allows you to add a call to action to your posts that encourages your customers to message you or visit your site once they’ve seen the post.

This is also where you will see all of your posts’ activity and get insights into how well they perform across platforms.

Ads

The Ads tab in the Meta Business Suite makes it easy to create new ads, boost posts, promote your page, and see metrics for the ads that you’ve already created.

You can also access your ads manager to see more information about existing campaigns.

Insights

Insights are possibly the most critical part of social media marketing and management. Your insights give you, well, insight into how well your ads and posts are performing. This insight allows you to adjust campaigns as necessary to make sure your efforts are working to engage your audience and drive sales.

You can view things like:

  • Metrics, trends, and visual reports to understand which strategies are working

  • Ad spending reports

  • Organic and boosted post engagement

  • Demographic and geographic summaries of your customers

More Tools

Finally, we have the More Tools tab. Within it, you will find:

  • Ads manager

  • Ad Account Settings

  • Audiences

  • Billing

  • Commerce Manager

  • Business Settings

  • Events Manager

  • Page Settings (to share and limit access to certain aspects of account. There are six roles to allow others to help you manage the page)

  • View page (to see what your customers see when they visit your pages)
